June 22, 2026

The August Wilson Society’s gallery offers a visual record of the people, programs, and gatherings that help keep August Wilson’s legacy in active conversation. Featured here are photos from August Wilson’s Ground 2026, hosted by the August Wilson Society in collaboration with NYU. This annual event series brings artists, scholars, educators, students, and theatre lovers together for critical engagement with Wilson’s work, legacy, and continued cultural impact. The 2026 gathering featured Dr. Sandra G. Shannon, Rosalyn Coleman, and Carl Cofield in conversation around the Broadway revival of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.
